February 2011 Editorial
Welcome February!
The shortest month of the year arrived here in Colorado with subzero temperatures!
It is still fairly chilly here and lots of white stuff all over the ground - a great time of year to get caught up on all those indoor activities and inner reflections as well.
February is the month of the groundhog (yes, spring is coming early hooray!), and love, and possible leap years (though not again until 2012). In the fourth grade my teacher, a nun, Sister Josepha, had a birthday that fell on the 29th of February. When we learned of this we were sure that she was actually about 110 years old and had never counted the years in between birthdays. She would fall asleep in class most afternoons leaving us to get into great mischief. Since then I have always pondered how leap year babies actually count their age. Such are the mysteries of February.
On the love side of things, this month I have an article to share with you on Heartfelt Networking. Meet and greet networking is a topic that we seem to be hearing about a lot these days as we ask ourselves how much really is too much in the shake a hand, grab a business card format. I encourage you to take a look at this piece of your business and discover what holds true for you. Several other articles this month have you looking at being your best as you look towards what you can share with the world!
The cover this month is Victory Circles member and portrait artist, Nomi Wagner. Hers is an inspiring story of how at the age of 60 she decided that it was time to have her dream of being an artist by trade come true. Nomi’s artwork is in fact featured in the cover with her very own portrait. I don’t know about you, but I love it!
Wishing you chocolates and sparkly things during this month that keep you warm from the inside out!
To Your Successes and Victories!
