The You Show
"Create the environment and the support to be able to sustain the change, long term versus short term" - John Assraf
Imagine this...you are on a reality show - in fact, you are the star of the reality show!
Yep, this morning when you got up the "hidden" camera was following your every move. From your morning visit to the bathroom until you sat down to read this letter. Yes, it's Super Bowl Monday and you are the star of the day after the game show. Are you ready for the challenge? Do you think you can be entertaining enough?
Seems two Monday mornings in a row now I have sat down to write and many questions have popped up in my mind - for you. This morning is no exception.
If you became a football warrior yesterday and watched the Super Bowl, you know that the commercials were big part of the entertainment (they are for me anyway). Of course the game was great too - Go Saints! - But then the commercials gave us a diversion onto themselves.
Think about the commercials you saw yesterday - didn't the ones that really entertained grab your biggest attention - Bud light, Snickers, Doritos, Coke - they all got my attention and made me smile. Some like Google took the simple idea of how we search on the Internet and gave us the key phrase to, Search On!
I wonder why those who make and supply us with commercials on an ongoing basis don't make them as fun as they do on Super Bowl Sunday. Don't they think we might actually watch them more if they were entertaining us - instead of always just selling to us!
Would you say you are at your entertaining and fabulous best most days? When you open your mouth to speak do words come out that you love sharing with others? Or do you find yourself just going through the motions, getting out of bed and heading into your day with a ho-hum, "here we go again" attitude.
Could you sustain an audience if they were watching you? Now you might be saying to yourself - what is Cheri talking about this morning? I don't have an audience and there is no hidden camera following my every move. Well, what I am asking you to do is look at how there really is, and to pump up your game 10 or 20 fold depending on how you have been playing it.
This month in the Victory Circles we are focusing on the success principle of Self Confidence. How much more successful are we when our Self Confidence is at its ultimate best? When we get the things that stop us from being our authentic self out of the way and just let our star shine?
So my request this week is that you leave reading this letter ready and in fact put on the best show possible. That you make your life shine, doing everything with 110 percent showmanship that will bring on your best game ever.
Who will be the cast that you get to play with every day? How entertaining are they? Perhaps you should add in some new key players? However it unfolds, remember you are the star and the director - so call the shots and do it right! Make your show one that you love playing in! As you do so keep the words of this mornings quote in mind by giving yourself the environment and support that you need to stay at your best.
Without further adieu I will let you go on with the show - The You Show!
