A
Note About US
from
Founder Cheri Ruskus - June 2007
At the risk of
sounding like an acceptence speech I decided to make this
page about the people who made the Victory Circles happen
and get it to the stage it sits on today. The About
US...is about them.
The
excitement of the initial vision of "a Victory Circle" was
thrilling.
The
synergy that was created in that first Victory Circle meeting
in March 2006 was incredible.
The
idea to turn "the Circle" into Circles and empower those
with an entrepreneurial spirit across the country is now
an awesome dream coming true!
It
has been said that no man (or of course woman!) is an island
and indeed this stage of the journey would not be possible
without the continent of people who have made it possible.
First,
to Debbie Sarfati for reminding me in late 2005 that we
really did need to get a group of women together to create
a networking group that was above the norm and more about
creating relationships than "leads". Next came Cynthia
Morris who "coached" me into the vision. Maddy Hopkins
for creating the logo that inspired us to see the roses
of the circle.
These
women along with Amber Wolf, Leslie Wallace, Liz Canavan,
Carrie Gray, Patti Weaver and my eternal confidant (and
hairdresser) Debbie Krueger have kept me on my path towards
Victory! Laurie Taylor brought the vision to
real clarity and focus with the idea of working with other
coaches and consultants across the country as I turned the
Circle into Circles. Tanya Shimer's legal expertise helped
with the trademark and legal side as Mia Mestdaugh got this
website up and live to you today!
Another
huge wave of gratitude goes to my first two Facilitators,
Lisa Hunter and Trish Thomas for seeing the vision and running
with it! You two ladies rock! Don Smith, my
gratitude for your coming out of the forest just in time
to help me to see that men need their own support groups
too!
And
last but of course never least a big thanks to my seventeen-year-old
son, Travis Ruskus, who saw the vision for the Victory Movie
(though quite frankly he thought I was crazy at first) and
helped me in taking my words and putting them to life!
This
does not even begin to name all of the people who have touched
my life in the last year but you know who you are and I
thank you so much for being with me on this amazing journey.
I
remember not too long after the creation of the first Victory
Circle sitting in front of a body of water and believe it
or not these words demanded I grab a pen and paper to write
them down.
A
Circle is a symbol of something complete
Like
ripples in the water to the sun giving heat.
Victory
is a feeling of a passion complete
From
the start of the race on, it's a reason to compete
To
find yourself in the Victory Circle is to speak out loud
about who you are!
Putting
one foot in front of the other while wishing on a star.
To
surround yourself with others who support you and your business
on your way.
A
monthly gathering for networking, support and inspirational
play!
I
hope you and I get a chance to play!
To
Your Success and Victories!
